I have GREAT news. Our home has been binky FREE for 1 month now!! YAY!!! No more searching the whole house for the lost binkies at nap and bedtime. Jensen and Brad have always liked having binkies. There weren't addicted to them, and they could be asleep without a binky in their mouth but if they saw them around they would stick them in.
Jason and I kept talking about when we would de-binkify our boys. I had a friend tell me that the parents have to be in it 100% or it just won't work and for a while I just was not 100% into it. I was nervous how the boys would go to sleep without their binkies. We have talked about it many times and it finally happened on a night that Jason was not even home. I was putting the boys to bed and it was time to give them their binkies. Well, I could only find one of them after searching the car and each and every room in the house. I finally said to myself, "well I guess tonight is the night" I went down stairs to their room and their were all "binky? binky?" and I told them, "sorry boys, you lost your binkies." They didn't cry, they just seemed worried. They kept asking for their binkies so I gave them some fruit snacks (yes I know) just to get their mind off of binkies....and it worked!! :D
There were only a couple of times here and there that they would ask for their binky and I would just tell them they are gone. We had one moment where I moved the changing table to get a car Jensen had dropped and what did I find?.... a binky! CRAP!! I hurried and grabbed it but not before Jensen saw. He started asking for his binky and I had to tell him no and that it is gone. He wouldnt let up so I bribed him with fruit snacks again to forget about the binky. That was within the first week of us taking them away and thankfully no other lost binkies have showed up.
I am so glad we are done with them. It makes life so much easier. Yay for no binkies!! I know you are all so proud of me!
