Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday Dear Mommy, Happy Birthday to you! So I know this post is over 2 MONTHS LATE, but I just figured I better post it before I go onto the rest of Christmas. I'm TRYING to stay in order, but ya know.....

On December 19, 2010 my wonderful mother turned 50 years young! My Grandma, Tom, my Sister Cari and I decided to work together to throw my mom a surprise party. Lots of planning, invitations sent out (thanks to my sister calling everyone of my moms friends and getting their addresses, picking up the invites and sending them out) food made and Tom tricking (more like lying...ahahaha) my mom and you ahve an amazing surprise party. We had talked to my mom and had told her that we would celebrate her birthday by going out to lunch as a family and seeing "tangled" that morning a nice blizzard blew in (yay for us) and my mom was wondering why Tom was still tring to get up here so fast. Thankfully they made it on time and we were able to really surprise her.

It was hilarious when she walked into the room and saw everyone. We all of course yelled "surprise" and she was speechless. She kept looking around and couldnt believe it. She really was surprised and had no idea that we had been planning this. She started going around the room and saying hello to friends that she had not seen for awhile.

We had a delicious "brunch" with potato/egg/sausage casseroles (made by me) and yummy fruit, cinnamon rolls, Coffee cake and all sorts of other yummy breakfast food. My sis and I did not hold back. We pretty much rock! Everyone loved it!

My Mom has great friends and they spoiled her!! She said she was a little embarassed to open presents infront of everyone. I can understand that, but we still made her do it.

Her wonderful kids gave her winter boots and my Grandma who is talented at everything did the needlepoint of the horse. It looked like a painting-THATS how good my Grandma is at it.

Everyone had so much fun and as you can see was pretty tuckerd out in the end!

Now a little note about my Mother so you can all read how great she is...
Dear Mom,
We love you!!! Thank you for always being there for us kids. You have been through so much in your life and I love the great example you have been for us! Thank you for always helping us with our school projects-even if we did wait until the night before to get it done-same goes for math and english homework :) I think I passed school because of you! Thank you for always getting up in the morning and making sure we had a hot breakfast to send us off to school with! You worked so hard as a single mother while going to school full time. And you still managed to spend a lot of time with us! Thanks for making us pull weeds in the garden under the hot sun(at least I think I say thank you for that) you taught us the value of hard work! You put up with us when we were grumpy and always have loved us no matter what! We have celebrated many birthdays where you got us doughnuts for breakfast and made us our favorite meal-including some pretty awesome homemade cakes. Heres to a Wonderful Mother for her 50th Birthday! I love you so much.
Kelli :)
