We had their party on the saturday after their Birthday. The weather was nice....a little hot but nice. My wonderful friend Megan helped me THE WHOLE DAY! She came over and helped me bake all the goodies. I could not have done it with out her!! We did manage to get a massage in earlier in the day. It was niiiice. It helped me relax. I had been planning this party for a month. Just putting little details together here and there when i had extra time. I had a vision in my mind, and it came together about 75%. There were some things i wanted to get done that didnt, and when it was time for the party to start decorations were going up. Thanks to My sissy Cari, my sissy in law Liz, my Mother in Law, Father in Law and Brothers Derek and Tyler for helping us get the decorations up and staying up (we had an issue for a little minute where they didnt want to stay up. But in the end it came together!!
I chose to do their Birthday theme in Red white and Blue since their Birthday was on the 7th. I had found some cute outfits for them to wear, and finding decorations was just a lot easier to do. Since I was going for that theme we served hamburgers for dinner since it's a "summer food" and all american favorite! We had yummy veggies and watermelon to go along with the hamburgers (that my Daddy cooked up-yes I still call my dad daddy!!) :) For dessert Meg and I made YUMMY cinnamon cupcakes, choco cupcakes (I have been loving everything cupcake lately) with a delish creamcheese frosting. I also made my Fruit Pizza (that everyone always request I make- namely my sisters Cari and Liz!) which is a sugar cookie base with yummy creamcheese+whipped cream topping with fruit all over it! Then we had delicious white chocolate covered strawberries with blue sugar sprinkles on the end. We had water and a Brazilian lemonade for drinks. I had wanted to make some choco chip cookies, and some other pretty lookin and yummy tasting treats but didnt have time. I always stress myself out, but I love doing it all. I know people probably thought I went overboard, but hey-they are twins and they turned one and I just love to throw parties. I seriously cant wait to buy my own house. The first big party I will be doing will be a Halloween one. Just you wait everyone!!!!
After we all ate we we sang happy birthday to the boys and watched them eat their cakes. Ok, so i am not a cake decorator, and I had an idea in mind for their cakes and thought I could do it...not really that way...haha. They turned out good and in the end i was fine with them. The biggest thing I wish I had changed was the cake itself. It was too dense and the boys didnt really care to dig in and get dirty cause it was harder to eat. There wasnt a ton of frosting because we put fondant on them. SO, the cake eating scene wasnt as messy and you would think it should be. But the boys seemed to enjoy it and we had fun watching them try and eat it.
After cake, we went to presents and by this time they were GRUMPY. Their napping schedule had been inturrupted that day and they didnt get the sleep they needed and so they were not as happy towards the end of the party. They would get upset, then calm down, then get upset again. You will see it in the pictures.
After all that we took pictures with everyone that came. Unfortunately my Mom had allready left by that time so sorry mom that there is not a picture of you!! But she was there and had so much fun. She just had to get back home becuase my step siblings were in town from Idaho and Ohio so she had to drive back to home to help them all out. We cleaned up after the pictures and said goodbye to family.
I just want to thank all of our family for coming and having fun with us. For the wonderful fun gifts they gave the boys. For all of the attention they gave the boys. For everything they always do for us and the boys! We really love all of our family members and I am so grateful for the role they play in the boys life, and our life as well. I know that Jensen and Brad really love to play with all of them.
Here is their Birthday Invite that I put together. And after I printed them I realized that I spelled Jensens name wrong, and that the picture in the frame was a little high. Oh well!!

Jensens cake and yummy watermelon and red, white and blue Jones soda.

Brad eating his cake...mmmm
Jensen eating his cake. It was so funny because at one point he decided in his mind that using his hands was not efficient, so he just lowered his mouth to the cake and enjoyed it that way. We were all laughing so hard. It was the cutest thing. He did it several times.

Starting with the presents. Here we have presents from Aunt Stephanie and Uncle Ryan who live in Michigan. The presents arrived in the mail the day before their birthday but I wanted the boys to wait until the party. Thanks you guys. The clothes and toys were so cute.

Books from Aunt Liz and Uncle Fritz and cousins. And Toys from Grandma and Grandpa Rosskopf.

Toys and clothes from Aunt Cari and Uncle Bill and cousins. Clothes and toys from Uncle Tyler, Uncle Derek and Aunt Elli.

The balls are from Grandma and Grandpa Bezzant. Bottom two pictures go with the pics above.
My Grandma Char and Grandpa Don are SO FANTASTIC. They live in St. George and they ALWAYS drive up for anything going on in the family. They drove up just for the party! I love you guys. Thanks for making it up here. My sissy with her daugther Kaylee, and Tyler eating food.

You make it look so easy. I am totally stressed out about this one. Your boys are getting so big. I don't just mean they are one. I mean some people are having a hard time holding them both. Then again, most people aren't used to holding two. HEE HEE I love their outfits. It looks perfect. I love the idea of your friend helping too. OK. Ready, get set, plan and try to get even close to the "queen of parties."
Happy Birthday Jensen and Brad! Looks like the party was awesome! You did an amazing job on their birthday cakes, wow!
