One year ago today....

***WARNING, LOTS OF PICTURES AHEAD!!***
One year ago today I woke up around 10 am to start getting ready for my weekly Non-Stress Test. I didnt enjoy my time at these. Having 3 different tight bands strapped around your belly, and just sitting in the chair for an hour with all that pressure is hard. This day was normal just like all the other NST's. No contractions, not even any braxton hicks... that is until towards the end when I started getting light headed because the weight of the babies was cutting of my circulation. The nurse was done anyways and had me sit up and gave me some water to drink. I scheduled my next NST for the next Tuesday and off I went.

I had about 4 places that I needed to go to and get errands done in preperation for the boys. I stopped in between ate lunch and was just waddling my way around every store I went to. By the time I got home my feet were killing me. I was tired and done (it was probably like 5-6 o'clock). So I went and took a nap. I woke up and went to the bathroom (this is when I later realized that I had lost my mucus plug) and went back to sleep. Jason was home at this time and joined me in my nap. I woke up around 9 pm to go to the bathroom again and when I made it to the bathroom I felt wetness going down my legs and seriously thought to myself "i know i have better bladder control than this" so I sat down and called my sister to see what she thought. Of course my water had broken. I go in and wake Jason up. He was al lin a frenzie worried that the boys were just going to fall out. I was calmly walking around getting my bag together so we could go. I let my sister know that we were on our way to the hospital. Jason drove us there and I called all the family letting them know what was going on. We made it up to the room, I got checked in and when I finally sat down on the bed in my beautiful hospital gown and my conractions started. They went right to about 3-4 mins apart. They brought the guy in to give me my epidural. To tell you the truth I dont now why people make such a big deal about it. I did not hurt, and I must say it was nice to not have to feel any pain.the one weird thing is that it makes your body shake.

They rolled me to the OR and prepped me for the c-section. The next thing I know they were pulling Baby A (Jensen) out of me. One minute later Brad came out. The sucky thing about having a c-section is that everyone goes to see the babies and your left laying there not being able to move. Brad had to go to the NICU for an hour because he had troubles breathing. Jason had left me to go be with him. I remember laying there feeling the doctor and nurses clean my insides out. It felt like he was just vacuuming my stomach out. It was the weirdest feeling ever. The pressure of it all and the movement. They rolled me to my recovery room where I saw my mom and sister and mother in law and Jason. They brought the boys into me for me to finally hold. IT WAS LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT. I saw them in the OR but couldnt hold them. After about an hour and a half in there I got transferred to my room, and they brought the boys in again. Since it was now 2 am it was time for me to go to sleep. But sleep that night I did not get. I was not comfortable in the hospital bed. I kept thinking of how I was now a mom of two. Our family double in size in 2 minutes. The next day was quite emotional. The boys had a hard time eating. A nurse from the NICU came down and taught us how to feed the boys. I just remember crying alot (hello release of hormones-crazy new cryingmom here...lol). By the fourth day it was time to go and the boys were doing great. We were both nervous as we were heading home to start our new adventure.

Here I am pregnant on the 4th of July, just 3 days before going into labor.

The boys first photo shoot at 2 weeks old. Jensen in green Brad in blue

At the hospital right after the boys were pulled out of me. I actually have a picture of them pulling brad out of me. He is half way out and half way in my belly still. Kinda creepy so I thought I would spare you. :)Our very first family photo.

Their 1 year photo shoot. My wonderful Laurie let me use her studio in her home. The boys were not too cooperative. They kept crawling everywhere and would not sit still. Brad at least gave me tons of smiles, Jensen cried alot. Nancy my mother in law came and helped us out. We probably even could have used a 4th set of hands. It was crazy fun. Thanks Laurie and Nancy for your help.
naked bum pictures. Love em!!
Jensen so happy at one point
Brad laughing pretty hard at Laurie
Laurie snapped this picture of me with the boys. Because I am the one normally behind the camera I am not in the pictures alot so I wanted one.
So there you have it. A whole year of pictures. I really still can't believe that I am a mom of two cute adorable little buys! We have for sure had a year of fun and hard times. Sleep deprivation, sicknesses, poop splattering on my mom and the wall. Daddy getting peed on constantly, and then there are the smiles and giggles. Seeing them lift their heads up and roll over. How they play with each other. They steal each other toys, and give each other their toys. I have been writing down stuff that they do, but I am going to save that after their 1 year doctors checkup. Especially since this post is allready too long. For those of you that have been reading this blog since before I found out I was having twins thanks for enjoying this past year with us. You have all seen them grow up. The year went by so fast!! I am throwing a brithday party for them on saturday!! I love to throw parties, and how often do you have twins that turn one? EXACTLY!! So it is going to be a fun party! You will just have to wait and see until it is done.
Until then HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY BRAD AND JENSEN! Your Dad and Mom love you so very much. You make our lives so happy and full of so much love. We love the cuddles you give us, and when you crawl all over us. We love the way you look up to us and look in our eyes! We are so blessed to have you as our sons.

I stumbled on your blog today from somewhere else (don't remember where) but loved the post and pictures. SO cute!!! My favorite is of your grandpa holding Brad - brought tears to my eyes. I was drawn to your blog because my maiden name is West too. Maybe we have some family relation from way-back-when :) Thanks for letting me "snoop" :)

I will definitely add you! I am flattered. What adorable little boys! Happy Birthday! I can not believe how fast they grow, I've heard it all my life, I've experienced it, but I still can't believe it.
Have fun celebrating your boys! (and I always think the mom should get something special too, for the pregnant/labor part of the deal)
